Getting things in the right order makes all the difference!

Children enjoyed the small tasks - researching information, making small models. They decided upon the mechanism and the made it housing it in a dishwasher table box for rigidity. (The cardboard model was not strong enough for this.)

We then placed mod roc around the box and then painted onto the mod roc. This method had problems when the mod roc was damp, making the box less rigid until it dried. Next time I do this, I will make a covering template for the model, decorate it then it can be placed over the model.

We will also consult with Y6 class on the best way to finish this D&T project and compare our method with their mod roc method.
